At Noble Plastics, our engineering approach and use of innovative technology are driven by our engineer owners — Missy and Scott Rogers.
Every year the Manufacturer’s Association of Plastics Processors celebrates its members’ safety achievements! There are two series of awards distributed, a Best Practices Award and a Gold Achievement Safety Award. This award seeks to celebrate, recognize and share best practices from MAPP members in safety.” MAPP has honored Noble Plastics with a Gold Achievement Safety Award, which is based on our Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 300 records for the 2022 calendar year. The Gold Achievement Safety Award recognizes worksites with no occupational injuries or illness, as defined by OSHA. This is the third award Noble has received from MAPP, but it is our first safety-based award.
Every month, Noble sends out an email containing a PDF on a new safety topic and a quiz to be completed after reading the month’s topic. Participation is measured by a quiz response with a minimum passing score of 75% or better. Team members are allowed to see their answers and retest to meet the required minimum passing score as often as needed. Accumulation of these quiz scores earns an annual cash safety bonus that is awarded the week before Christmas.
To further promote participation, we have a lottery pull for prizes mid-year where tickets are allotted based on the number of completed quizzes. The lottery prizes vary from insulated mugs to Weber grills! This is hosted as a special event, Safety Day, with shirts and cake to make the lottery pull even more festive. Team members who are off shift are invited to attend virtually, adding to the excitement of pulling the winning tickets. We had an additional celebration in 2022 when we passed 500,000 safe man hours worked with a limited-edition uniform shirt! This year our safety celebration was held during our Family Fun Day, this past Saturday June 10th.
